Journey

Beyond the research

Conferences, travel, recognition, and the interests that keep me curious outside the lab.

Travel

Along the Way

A few places research and conferences have taken me — and a few I went looking for on my own.

Montmartre, Paris · 2024

An Afternoon in Montmartre

Below the Sacré-Cœur, on the steps where all of Montmartre seems to gather.

Mont Saint-Michel · 2024

Between Sky and Tide at Mont Saint-Michel

The tide out, the abbey rising like it always has, arms up because some views ask for it.

A Quiet Northern Evening

A docked boat, a still harbor, and the long, unhurried dusk of a Nordic summer.

Grey Skies, Old Streets

Rain on old cobblestones — a different mood entirely from the sunny harbor view, and just as memorable.

Stockholm, Sweden · 2024

At the Nobel Prize Museum

Stockholm's Nobel Prize Museum — a fitting stop for someone who spends most days thinking about research.

Stockholm, Sweden · 2024

A Nobel Moment

A playful photo beside a replica medal at the museum — no prize won, just an appreciation for the ambition it represents.

Stockholm, Sweden · 2024

Across the Baltic

The colorful skyline of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town, seen from across the water.

The organized chaos of Shibuya Crossing, lit up after dark.

A Personal Highlight

Paris 2024

Between conference travel through Europe, I caught part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in person — flag in hand, cheering on Team India.

Stories Beyond the Model

Outside the lab, I write and think a great deal about cinema. I'm fascinated by the moment an idea becomes a scene — and a scene becomes something another person can feel. That interest naturally overlaps with my work in generative video, but it also extends beyond the technology: to narrative, pacing, atmosphere, character, and memory.

I'm not a filmmaker or a published writer — not yet. But it's a genuine ambition: someday, I hope to write and make a film of my own.
